 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
 - 1/4 cup melted butter
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
 - Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
 - Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
 - Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg
 
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Mash the banana in a medium bowl until smooth.
 - Stir in the sugar and melted butter until well combined.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
 - Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, stirring gently.
 - Add optional mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts, if desired.
 - Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
 - Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are golden and tops are set.
 - Cool on the tray for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
 
Notes
- For extra depth, use browned butter instead of melted butter.
 - The riper the banana, the better the flavor and moisture.
 - Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
 - Freeze dough for future use by portioning and storing in a sealed bag.
