Description

Delicious meatball subs featuring a rich bourbon BBQ sauce, turkey bacon, and chicken ham for a delightful twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 slices chicken ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. In a large pan, cook turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, lightly heat up the bourbon BBQ sauce.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, toss them in the heated bourbon BBQ sauce.
  8. To assemble the subs, place the meatballs in the sub rolls, top with chicken ham, turkey bacon, and shredded cheese.
  9. Place the assembled subs back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the meatball mixture.
  • Feel free to use any type of cheese you prefer.
