- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Add in eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add in the egg and mix until combined.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture over it, then dollop the remaining brownie batter on top.
- Swirl the mixtures together with a knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
- Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
