Ingredients

- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup carrots, sliced
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the chicken broth over medium heat.
- Add the diced chicken, carrots, celery, and thyme. Simmer until the chicken is cooked through.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering broth.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until the dumplings are fluffy.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while simmering the broth.
- Leftover chicken can also be used for this recipe.
