Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the sugars, bananas, applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla until well blended.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
