- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter, then press the mixture into a pie dish to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 8 minutes, then allow it to cool.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually add in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate pudding filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, whip the heavy cream and spread it over the pie, then shave chocolate on top for garnish.
Notes
- For an extra chocolatey flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet for garnish.
- This pie can be made a day in advance for the best texture.
