- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, sugar, and egg to the yeast mixture and stir well.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar together, then sprinkle over the cream cheese layer.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
Notes
- For an extra sweet touch, drizzle with a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk after baking.
