- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt, then stir in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover.
- Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly, then roll up tightly.
- Cut into rolls and place in a greased baking dish, then let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and vanilla with a little water to create a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the filling.
- These rolls can also be made the night before and baked in the morning.
