Description

A delicious homemade version of the popular Panda Express Orange Chicken, easy to make and full of flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dip the chicken pieces into the flour mixture, coating them well.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine the orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Bring to a boil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry, then add to the sauce to thicken it.
  6. Coat the fried chicken with the orange sauce and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add red pepper flakes to the sauce for heat.
  • Serve over steamed rice or with vegetables.
