Description

A deliciously creamy and cheesy potato gratin that features a perfect combination of crispy parmesan and gruyere cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated gruyere cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat over medium until warm.
  4. Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, alternating with the cheeses.
  5. Pour the cream mixture over the layered potatoes.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a crispy topping, broil for a few minutes after baking.
