A deliciously creamy and cheesy potato gratin that features a perfect combination of crispy parmesan and gruyere cheese.

- 2 pounds potatoes
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup grated gruyere cheese
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat over medium until warm.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, alternating with the cheeses.
- Pour the cream mixture over the layered potatoes.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a crispy topping, broil for a few minutes after baking.
