A delightful twist on a classic dessert, this Crème Brûlée Caramel French Delight offers an easy indulgence you can recreate at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 5 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
  4. Slowly add the hot cream mixture to the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the mixture into ramekins.
  7. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with boiling water halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until just set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  10. Sprinkle the tops with brown sugar and use a torch to caramelize.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, add a pinch of sea salt before caramelizing.
