Description
A rich and hearty deep dish meat pie made with ground beef, sausage, pepperoni, and melted cheese in a golden pie crust.

- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ lb beef sausage, casing removed
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 deep dish pie crust (pre-made or homemade)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 15–20 slices beef pepperoni
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: red pepper flakes or chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Line a 9-inch deep pie dish with the crust. Blind-bake for 5–7 minutes if desired.
- Spread half of the meat mixture in the crust, top with half the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Top with pepperoni slices and sprinkle Parmesan on top.
- Brush crust edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with red pepper flakes or parsley if desired. Serve with extra marinara.

- Blind-baking the crust helps avoid sogginess.
