- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
- Pour the batter into the donut pan and fill each cavity about 2/3 full.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, flour, softened butter, and cinnamon to create the crumb topping.
- Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the batter in the donut pan.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the donuts are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan.
Notes
- For a sweeter donut, add more sugar to the batter.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for a couple of days.
