This French Onion Ground Beef and Rice Casserole is a hearty and comforting dish that’s perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and brown the ground beef.
  3. Add the rice, beef broth, French onion soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • You can substitute brown rice for white rice; adjust cooking time as needed.
