Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain and mash with milk and butter. Season and set aside.
- Heat oil in skillet. Sauté onion and garlic until softened (about 3 minutes).
- Add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart.
- Sprinkle flour over beef. Stir to coat and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir constantly.
- Simmer for 5 minutes until gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve the beef and gravy over mashed potatoes. Enjoy warm.
Notes
- Use Yukon Gold for creamier mashed potatoes.
- For richer gravy, add a splash of cream.
- Make ahead and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- For gluten-free, use cornstarch instead of flour.
