A delicious and healthy gumbo greens recipe featuring turkey bacon and cabbage.
Ingredients

- 1 pound turkey bacon
- 2 cups gumbo greens
- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
- Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pot.
- Add onion and garlic to the pot, sauté until translucent.
- Add chopped cabbage and gumbo greens, stirring until wilted.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, then add cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Return turkey bacon to the pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
Notes
- This dish can be made with other leafy greens if gumbo greens are unavailable.
- Feel free to adjust the spice level to your taste.
