Description

This Healthy Chinese Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir Fry is a quick, protein-packed, low-carb dish full of flavor and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90%+ lean)
  • 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (garnish)
  • Cooked jasmine or brown rice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef, break apart, and cook until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add cabbage and carrot, cook 4–5 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, vinegar, and oyster sauce (if using).
  6. Add cornstarch slurry and cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions.
  8. Serve alone or over rice.

Notes

  • For keto or Whole30, skip rice and use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • Omit oyster sauce for a cleaner version.
  • Add more vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for variation.
