This Healthy Chinese Ground Beef & Cabbage Stir Fry is a quick, protein-packed, low-carb dish full of flavor and perfect for busy weeknights.

- 1 lb lean ground beef (90%+ lean)
- 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (garnish)
- Cooked jasmine or brown rice (optional)
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef, break apart, and cook until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
- Add cabbage and carrot, cook 4–5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Stir in soy sauce, vinegar, and oyster sauce (if using).
- Add cornstarch slurry and cook 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with green onions.
- Serve alone or over rice.
Notes
- For keto or Whole30, skip rice and use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
- Omit oyster sauce for a cleaner version.
- Add more vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for variation.
