- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beer
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
- In a large pot, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove and crumble.
- In the same pot, melt butter. Stir in flour to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk and beer, cooking until thickened.
- Add cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine cooked macaroni and crumbled bacon with the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra bacon if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute regular bacon if preferred.
- For a spicier kick, add some jalapeños.
