- 2 cups navy beans
- 4 slices turkey bacon
- 1 cup root beer
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Soak the navy beans overnight and drain.
- Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then crumble.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine beans, root beer, barbecue sauce, Dijon mustard, chopped onion, garlic powder, black pepper, and crumbled bacon.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper.
- Leftover baked beans can be reheated in the microwave.
