- 4 pounds beef short ribs
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup diced onion
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the ribs on all sides.
- Transfer the ribs to a slow cooker.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Pour in beef broth, red wine, and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet.
- Pour the sauce over the ribs and add thyme and rosemary.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the ribs are tender.
- Remove the ribs and strain the sauce if desired.
- Serve warm.
