Description

Delicious and easy to prepare, spinach and cheese squares are the perfect snack for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package of phyllo pastry sheets

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped spinach, ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay out phyllo sheets and brush with melted butter.
  4. Layer several sheets and then spread the spinach mixture evenly.
  5. Roll the phyllo tightly and place it on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • These squares can be made ahead of time and frozen.
  • For added flavor, you can include herbs like dill or parsley.
