Ingredients

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until well combined.
  3. Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.
  4. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  5. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan, then cover with the remaining batter.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving.
