Description

Crispy, flavorful beef samosas made with spiced ground beef and wrapped in tortillas for a quick and delicious twist on the classic snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 4 large tortillas
  • Oil for frying or baking

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Season with cumin, coriander, garam masala, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Add frozen peas and cook for another 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro.
  6. Place a tortilla on a flat surface. Add a spoonful of beef mixture on one half, fold over, and press to seal.
  7. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and fry samosas for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, or bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes.
  9. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for a less greasy filling.
  • Baking instead of frying reduces oil content by up to 40%.
  • Samosas can be frozen raw or cooked for up to one month.
  • Seal edges with a little water and press firmly to avoid leaks.
