Deliciously crispy and tender Captain D’s Batter Dipped Fish that you can make at home.
Ingredients

- 1 pound white fish fillets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beer or sparkling water
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Gradually whisk in the beer or sparkling water until the batter is smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each fish fillet into the batter and carefully place in the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper to the batter.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the fish to ensure crispy results.
