Description

A warm and comforting dish perfect for family dinners, featuring tender chicken and fluffy dumplings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough

Instructions

  1. Place chicken thighs in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  2. Add chopped carrots, celery, and onion on top of the chicken.
  3. Pour chicken broth over the top, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Remove chicken, shred it, and return to the Crock Pot.
  6. Open the biscuit dough, tear off pieces, and drop them into the broth mixture.
  7. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes or until dumplings are fluffy.

Notes

  • For a thicker broth, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons of water before adding dumplings.
