- 2 pounds beef round steak
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup mushrooms sliced
- 4 cups potatoes diced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sear beef on all sides.
- Place seared beef in the slow cooker with onions, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and mushrooms.
- Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add potatoes to the slow cooker.
- Once cooked, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like carrots or peas.
- For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch slurry.
